How to read this table

Temp °F
Forecast air temperature near first pitch. Warm, thin air carries the ball farther and helps hitters; cold air (under ~50°F) suppresses fly-ball distance and favors pitchers.
Wind mph / Wind dir
Speed and the direction the wind is coming from, judged against each park's center-field orientation. Wind blowing out boosts home runs and hitter projections; wind blowing in knocks balls down and helps pitchers. Crosswinds are close to neutral.
Precip %
Chance of rain around game time. Rain slightly helps hitters (wet ball, worse grip and command, higher on-base rate) and hurts pitchers, and it raises the odds of a delay or postponement.
Delay risk
Combined rain probability and intensity: Low, Moderate, High. Higher risk means a real chance a starter is pulled early after a stoppage — the biggest weather penalty a starting pitcher can take.
Dome
Domed or closed-roof parks are weather-neutral: no wind, temperature, or rain adjustment is applied.
Hitters vs. pitchers
Every condition cuts both ways. Conditions that raise hitter projections lower the opposing pitcher's, and vice versa. How strongly this shows up in projections is controlled by the Weather slider in the optimizer.

Color coding

  • Green — conditions favor hitters (warm air, wind blowing out).
  • Red — conditions favor pitchers (cold air, wind blowing in), or, in the Precip and Delay columns, a high risk of rain disruption.
  • Amber — moderate rain or delay risk worth monitoring before lock.
  • Plain text — the effect is negligible or the park is weather-neutral.

Forecasts are pulled near first pitch and refresh through the day. Always re-check rain games shortly before lineups lock.
